Star City
by Michiru Hikaru Kunou

Prologue

Every year a true Warrior is chosen from among the Stars. Magic is known here in the Star city. But you can never leave it's Domain. These warriors are known throughout the Litz Continents as the heroes of the world. But Tradition was shaken and only Four are chosen to be every Fifty years, or when one Starlight Dies.
The starlights are our protectors here at the Litz continents and few are chosen among the many of us. We are hidden from those based on science and only those who will believe Magic can find us.
A Young boy now is being watched by the stars commended for his bravery and skill. But among the other boy villagers he was weak...
His name is Rem known throughout his society as The young boy who only looks at a distant dream... But Rem wont give into them. His will is what makes him strong.
He is from the town of Finran. This town selects many of the strong boys to climb the Ranis Mountains for the food of the town and this time Rem was chosen...
"Rem I sure hope you know what your doing 'cause doin' this could get yerself killed."
"Pana, I know what I'm doing besides, Who knows I could be blessed by the stars."
Pana looks at the boy firmly, eyes narrowed to slits. "What you dream about will always be nothing more than a dream, Rem. Once you've figured this out you'll become a Man."
"Once a long time ago," Rem said rolling his eyes, "They encouraged Children to follow their dreams..." Pana's sharp gaze broke Rem's sentence.
"We DO encourage you to follow Dreams, Not impossible dreams Rem!" Pana's voice left the echo in Rem's mind that, sure maybe his dream was a little farfetched but it was still a dream none the less.
A tear rolled down Rem's cheek, He wished he knew his real father but here in this cursed city Rem was nothing more than an orphan. Still determined, however, Rem finished packing and headed off with the other boys.
The mountain was narrow and difficult to climb but it wasn't too hard for Rem. Once at the top the boys spread out to look for food for their village. Rem found rare delicacies and smiled. The stars are watching over me, He thought delightfully.
"KADA STORM! ALL BOYS APPROACH THE TRAILS, WE'RE HEADED OUT!"
Rem paused a moment and took out his map to mark where he found the exotic food.
No one was thankful because it was found by the orphan, not by their trueblood.
"Look! It's little Rem who want's to be a Starlight Knight! Show us your powers o little one!"
"Shut-up! I don't have to take this abuse! You wouldn't know a real dream even if it kick you in the..."
     "Rem Gunnison!"
"I'm NOT a Gunnison!" Rem replied smartly. Then he saw who it was. Yinam, his foster mother, the one who always took good care of him.
     "Yinam, I-I'm sorry."
"Don't mind it Rem. It's time you came in, those boys would have pulverized you!"
"Yinam! I could take any of 'em on!" Rem said. Yinam laughed at him.
Suddenly the door burst open with Pana standing in the doorway.
"Rem, What were you thinking behaving that way to a Trueblood. You have no place!" Pana cried and angrily took a slave whip off the wall.
"Yinam! don't let him hit me!"
"Pana! Put it down!" She turned forcefully to Rem.
"Gomin nasai, Rem but Pana is right. Go to your room and think about what you have done." Rem's heart broke in two, tears welled up in his eyes.
He sat at his desk and thought about what he'd said and saw no fault with it, except he was an Orphan. He bent over the table when suddenly his house began to shake.
Panicked, Rem threw himself out the window . He landed and rolled upwards to see his house being encircled by white light.
"Yinam, Pana!" He cried. The house exploded ant the strange white light came directly at him. Then it was dark.

     "Yinam,Pana!"
"He's awake. Rem, Yinam and Pana were killed when the house exploded. I'm sorry."
"Not again!" Rem went into despair and cried.
     Thunder could be heard.
"Not a Kada storm." The village elder said.
     Suddenly gentle rain came down.
     "It's raining! Pure gentle rain!"
"Rem you are chosen", Rem heard, he looked up but saw no one.
"It happened when Rem started crying." Trueblood said.
     "Has Rem been chosen?"
A small girl was seen sliding down on the mountain trail with a sword at her side and her bangs in her eyes.
"Rem Gunnison?" the girl said. Rem slowly nodded his head.
"Michiru, Starlight Knight! I've been looking for you!"

Chapter one: A nightmare come true.

Rem stared at the girl enveloped with her words. They stabbed at him along with the realization that he was a starlight. But all was at the cost of Pana and dear Yinam.
His sigh was heavy and tears again formed in his eyes. He suddenly remembered back to when a Starlight visited the village often, giving pearls of wisdom to those "Worthy" of it. But oddly this one was always with him. Some odd sensation swept about him. Frustrated now that he couldn't pinpoint why he felt this way or even what this feeling was.
"We all had sacrifices to make. But never mind that, you must come with me. There are others and we do not know your element."
     "E...element?" Rem stammered.
The girl laughed at him. "Don't worry about it Rem Gunnison."
There were so many emotions inside of him at that moment and hadn't realize what he said until he said it. "I want to worry about it!" Thunder clapped overhead.
The hut that protected them from the rain was made of straw and could easily be set afire. There was an old wooden table and a bell that the village sounded when a meeting was gathered. Again Rem felt anger at the fact that at these meetings, he was not allowed to voice his opinion, and was always cast aside like a bad dog.
"Lord of skies, Pashana." Tear came to the girls eyes. "You... remind me of him."
Rem stared at the girl in horrid disbelief.
"Lord of luja city? Great Pashana Gunnison Starlight knight?! Lady that is too much a compliment for a low boy like myself."
She sighed shakily. "He was very proud and a lot older than all of us, but he acted like a kid. He had a kid... but he couldn't stay with him, He wished he could though."
"I remember him coming here from a long time ago, He stayed with Pana when he was here but I don't see why." His voice broke suddenly.
He glared at the Village elder a moment then looked back at the girl, wiping away her tears. It sometimes helped when some body showed they cared... even for a stranger.
"His son lived here. His wife died a long time ago."
Rem felt his blood go cold, his hand slipped from her cheek, and he stared in anger at the elder again.
He walked over to the village elder and was kiss-face close to him.
To Michiru he said, "Am I his son?" His eyes never left the village elder.
"His powers discharged into his son. That's what he wanted..." She whispered something and then cursed under her breath. "He knew all about you. He made up his mind that he would tell you..." Rem gasped as he saw an image of Pashana hurt from a mighty blow to the head... but that's not what would have killed him... It was the Streamer Cats that did. Streamer Cats were a gang that didn't get along with "Goodie Goodies".
His eyes were still on the elder and through clenched teeth he said, "You knew, Everyone knew." With that he let his anger explode as he clipped the elders eye hairs enough to where It would leave a Bruise.
     "You insulant..."
"You want to talk insulance refer to yourself!" Rem shook his hand to let go of the impact. It felt good to let it out.
"Elder, angering a starlight isn't wise." Trueblood said. "Rem, I did not know of this. I am truly sorry this happened."
     "What would you know?"
Trueblood grabbed Rem by the shoulders, "I feel foolish for my actions."
Rem jerked away. "Why because I'm suddenly important? Because I'm a Starlight?"
"Because I knew you were special because Lord Pashana always talked about you. Jealousy."
"I don't need your Damn sympathy!" Rem said.
This time It was Michiru's turn to show kindness. She touched Rem on the shoulder and then let out a shaky sigh. "You look so much like him!" Rem sat down with new grief. He always wished he was Pashana's son... but never realized he really was.
Frustrated he cried out, "Why didn't anyone tell me?!"
Then with more softness, "It's a nightmare."
"Sound the bells," the elder said, absently rubbing his eye.
"Kymi!" Michiru called, her voice quivering.
The woman had Pashana's body on her back. She put him on the old wooden table.
Rem kneeled at Pashana's body. He grabbed Pashana's hand and held it up to his face... Suddenly Pashana's eyes opened.
"You didn't tell me..." Pashana for the first time embraced his son. Then Rem and the other were gone.

In the two weeks that followed Michiru and kymi taught Rem to fight and Acrobatics.
He was practicing when a shadow fell over him.
     "Michiru!"
"Mucose," Michiru spat the name as if it were a curse.
"Where is my Father! He said he'd meet me!"
Rem set a firm look on his face as if it were enough to banish the man away. "He's dead if you wish to know!"
     "Rem! and he's the star!"
Rem snarled as he knew this strange man's meaning. Over the past few weeks a gold star formed on his forehead.
"That's right Mucose, you weren't worthy!"
"Shut-up wench! I've a few words to say to you!"
     Michiru stood just behind Rem.
"Who the Stars are you?"Rem said blocking Michiru from any assaults.
"I am Mucose Gunnison, Rightful heir to the starlight! How did you come upon it!"
"I am Rem Gunnison, Son of Pashana Gunnison!"
     "NO! I'm his only son!"
"Rem Don't listen to him! he's not even of Pashana's blood!"
"I don't want to fight you!"
Rem was grateful he was a quick learner for the jump he made temporarily saved his life. Mucose slashed out and Rem flipped landing on his feet. He looked at Michiru who feigned innocence as Mucose closed in on her. She called upon the water and nearly froze him.
"Kymi! We're going to half-port, with or without your permission!"
"Get back here wench!" Mucose screamed and threw something at her. It hit Rem instead. Rem almost screamed. He automatically felt the Selip poison in his blood. Selip is nasty and can kill almost immediately. He instinctively threw out his arms and grabbed a tree. It sliced his hands open. By dumb luck this tree was a Kuppiko tree, known more as the healing tree. Just as fast as the poison had entered his system it left.
     "Rem!" was Michiru's Caressing call.
"I'm all right thank the stars! I thought I was a goner!"
"Rem, you worry me." was her soft reply.
He looked at her with feigned innocence that didn't fit, his smile reassuring.
"I guess Half-port is the closest town we'll get to," Kymi said.
"Kymi, you'll have to tell him someday. Might as well quit putting it off."
"Duck! what the..." Rem pushed Michiru down as a big Falcon picked him up and set him on the ground.
     "Orion!" Rem cried.
"Seek J J Zodiac, true son of Gunnison! Strange tidings are coming where two fields are one! The Akaisorashi and the Starlights! Good luck to you!"

Prologue to Akaisorashi and J J Zodiac

The Akaisorashi were the first heroes until rumor ruined them. Those with Akaisorashi powers are subject to keep their "Professions" true heroes when the starlight came. Time polluted the Akaisorashi to the Demon Akaisorashi, and it really isn't an Honor. But in truth, Akaisorashi are more loyal than dogs and would help anyone in need.
J J Zodiac is one of the Starlight, but left because of Pashana's death feeling somehow responsible for it. J J now owns a Tarot house in Half-port... about to met young Gunnison for the first time...

Rem Ducked Into the safety of Half-port's Gates, Michiru and Kymi quickly after. Michiru stopped to catch her breath, and noticed her surroundings.
Somewhat dissapointedly, Half-port was obviously a fishing town. Either They had horrible trade or not enough fish, The town was eventually poor. The water looked somewhat polluted... Michiru could easily be rid of that, since half the people looked so hungry.
     "Rem..." She said, Slowly.
"Just leave me alone now,"He said aggravated. "Just who is He? Mucose I mean."
"He's your half brother, who obviously was dropped on his head too many times when he was little. He's very twisted and many times offered to make me his bride. Ugh! I can't imagine being wife to that slime! He want's your powers, Which, previously, were Pashana's."
"Lady of the water, right?" Michiru nodded, and tried to come into contact with Rem. He shrugged her off angrily crying, "No one tells me ANYTHING! I'll be at the Library, Maybe I'll find some answers there." With that, Rem left with such Princely manner, one would wonder if was really raised in a village.
"Well, you know where I'll be." Kymi said.
"Good luck to you!" She called after.
Michiru decided to wander letting her thoughts drift when she remembered something Master Wand had told her.
"There are many horrifying things you will face, Michiru, But good will emerge from it you'll see."
"I wonder if Rem's one of the many little horrors." Michiru said, smiling to herself.
"No. Rem's too sweet, too ambitious, to caring to be horrifying."
Suddenly, Michiru came upon a long line. She bumped into a man of steel.
"Ow, Hey...! What's this line for?"
The hefty man turned and faced her, deadly expression in his face.
Michiru was thankful for her Beauty, however, for the man looked at her and smiled a toothless grin.
"We're here to see the mighty J J. She the Tarot master."
A run down place like this has a Tarot... Michiru thought.
"Is This person's last name Zodiac?"
     "Why, yes'm."
"Excuse me," Michiru said, moving through the line. She had a hard time trying to get through bodies that were too big for her. One man, presumably a guard, was yelling as her to wait her turn. When she hadn't listened the man jumped on her, but Michiru kept on moving. When she finally got up to the entrance there were about three guards on her.
     "J J! J J! Help me!"
Zodiac turned and looked at Michiru. Then, gasping, cried out, "Let her in! Let her In!!"
Michiru entered with two guards still on her. She shook them off and kept her temper, but winded up tossing them hard into the wall.
"If this is some futile way of getting me back with the group, It's not going to work."
Michiru sighed. Zodiac felt responsible for Pashana's death. The straemer Cats could have easily been killed by J J, but J J was paralyzed with fear.
     "Rem's here." Michiru said.
"Pashana's true son?" Zodiac stared at Michiru in disbelief.
There was a sob in Michiru's voice as she spoke, Her eyes forever wandering. "Mucose nearly killed him, trying to get to me."
"Rem's in danger?" J J asked, somewhat serious.
"He's mad at me because I didn't tell him..." Michiru almost slipped there that was something she'd rather not tell anyone. "About Mucose and Pashana. Pashana is alive, J J."
"That's so cruel! I killed him! and you know it all too well." Zodiac sobbed.
"Rem revived him. He's as alive as you are!"
"You have strong feelings for Rem, don't you Michiru?" Zodiac asked suddenly.
Michiru's eyes wandered before looking at her. "Yes... I'm in love with him."
J J nodded and closed her eyes. "I see you and... Rem! He looks like his father!" Michiru smiled and nodded.
"Oh, no... I see troublesome tears and a tombstone of falseness. Three hearts broken one barely beating..."
"J J, the Starlights have need of you, come with us."
"Rem is in danger! By my blood I won't let that happen again! Michiru let's go!"
     "Welcome back, J J Zodiac."

"Lynne, I have to tell you something."
"Papa!"Lynne cried. Kymi felt like leaving, but she would tell him now.
"I'm not going to hurt you, Lynne. Honey I'm your mother."
Lynne gave her a cockeyed glance then looked into her eyes.
"Mommy!"Lynne said pointing his finger at her.
Kymi couldn't be happier. It was just her Reeve and Lynne one family reunited.

Rem looked up "The Lady of Water," and found a recent entry of Michiru, but she was know as The Princess of Ice. She carried the sibyan Ice, and was the brain of the Starlights.
He finally found what he was looking for.
The main objective of the starlight was to find the elemental keys to the lst StarCity. The Luja bloodline, since the beginning, have tried and failed finding the keys, forever making it a family deed.
Michiru finally found him, and introduced him to J J.
     "Rem this is Zodiac."
Rem turned and look at another person. He was tall and had Black hair, a man beside him had brown hair and a Woman who complained.
     "Mindo Beliove, Akaisorashi?"
     "Rem Gunnison, Starlight Knight."
"Master Wand has told me about you."
"So... Tell me of our Mission..."

Prologue to Chapter three: Dreams and screams.

One may have difficulty trying to imagine something happening so one dreams of it. It only natural for one to dream, but hidden horror await our young friends. A creature known as the Kunipo is after princess Michiru. It has the ability to manipulate... bringing deadly results...

Chapter Three: Dreams and Screams

In an unknown castle, Rem sees that he is in his fathers shoes, looking at a beautiful mother, Clutching a small child.
She looked so happy, her bright blue eyes looking up at Pashana.
"Oh, Pashana, He's so beautiful. Our beautiful young prince."
"So are you, Nathalia, The most beatiful woman in the Litz continents."
Nathalia blushed and looks at the newborn in her hands. Pashana smiled at the little one and put his arm around his wife.
     "What should we name him?"
Pashana kissed her neck and tells her, "Rem."
     "Oh, Pashana, You honor me!"
     "I love you..."
A guard comes up suddely with such urgancy that it startled the king.
"Sir! There has been betrayal, Your brother Mohrin..."
"Nathalia, take Rem to Finran, I'll meet you there!"
     "Pashana!"
     "Go...!"

Rem awoke to slight ruffling of his shirt.
He was surprised to find himself at an Inn, Michiru shaking him boldly.
"Rem, I was beginning to think that you were dead! You've been asleep for nearly three days now!"
"Might explain why I'm so hungry." Rem joked.
Mischiru groaned, and shoved a pillow into Rem's face. He laughed at her through the pillow and then removed it, catiously as if listening to something. He cocked his head in a puppy-curious posistion then he narrowed his eyes, turning somewhat pale.
"Don't get too involved with her Rem, She'll mean your fortold death?"
     "What?!" Rem cried, shocked.
Michiru jumped back as if Rem just hit her. Rem gasped when he found out he did, Her cheek glowing red.
     "Michiru, I..."
"Normally I would hit back back, but I can't hurt you Rem."
     "Kill her Rem!"
     "Who are you!"
     "Kill her now!"
     "I'll kill you!"
"We are the Kunipo, and she is one who is a murderer."
"Liar! Michiru get help! It's the Kunipo!" Rem suddenly pulled out his own knife and raised it to attack Michiru. Rems eyes met with hers...... Rem cut his wrist open. It was hard to stop Rem's lifeblood.
"Sibayan ice, Cloud of sheer wind, The crippling of earth at your command. Bring forth the mighty destruction at our hands! Destroy my foes the Kunipo!" Michiru swung out at the Kunipo and it appeared.
It was a hideious creature that had wings of a moth, hair of fire and the body of a bear. It now owned a poisonous wound.
"You come near him again and I'll kill you!" Michiru cried.
     "Rem, Kill her!"
"No!" Michiru slashed out at it and it sliced in half. Michiru kicked what was left of the Kunipo off the balcony.
"I'll go get help!" Rem caught her arm, at this point Rem was ghostly pale and his eyes searched hers.
"I will never hurt you, Michiru."
"Oh, Rem you stupid idiot! Instead you'll kill yourself!" Michiru's eyes danced like a fragile candle. Rem's eyes still searched hers.
"So be it." Was his reply.
Michiru Ran across the balcony of the Inn to another room. She pounded on it very hard and broke out into sobs.
A tall man came out, no older than seventeen... he had dark eyes and brown hair...
     "Trueblood! Rem... The kunipo..."
"Re-e-e-m!" Trueblood called running toward rem's room.

Rem, meawhile, took a bathrobe and tied it around the bed, bracing the bed with his legs, Rem tied the robe around his wrist, then with all the strength to purify him, Rem pulled hard.
"Rem!" Trueblod ran into the room, grabbing one of the candles that illuminated the room.
     "Michiru hold him! Tightly!"
"What are you going to do?" Rem asked worriedly.
"Rem, I've got to caulk the wound. There's no other way."
     "N-o-o-o!" Rem cried, pathetically.
"Rem do you want to die?" Trueblood asked.
Rem look into Michiru's eyes when she wasn't looking. "No,"
"Then," Trueblood put the candle to Rems wrist. Rem screamed. It was a strange sound to ever escape a boys lips.
Rem buried his head in Michiru's stomach. Michiru took a chance, as she was stroking Rem's hair. Rem focused on her stroking his hair. He relaxed suddenly and fell into Michiru...
"I'm done now Rem." A faint moan answered Trueblood.
Michiru laughed. "He's asleep!" Then seriously, "Will he be all right?"
"If he wakes up tomorow, we'll know."
"Oh, Rem! Damn those Kunipo!" Michiru sighed, closing her eyes.

Michiru woke up. It was almost noon and rem still in her lap.
"Rem!" She screamed, breaking out into sobs. She looked down to see Rem looking up at her.
"Oh, YOU!" Michiru said pushing him away.
"Trueblood talked me into it!" Rem said, choking back a giggle attack.
     "Hmph!"
"Michi! Come on ! It was only a joke!"
"Michi?" Michiru spun on him so that thier faces were quite close.
"I'm sorry..." Rem said in a quiet voice.
     "How's your wrist?"
He held it out readily. Michiru examined it and then rubbed it. His wrist seemed to pulsate... Michiru decided not to mention it, seeing as Rem hadn't noticed it. Rem put on his gloves and said to her, "Trueblood made some connections and we have ourselves a couple of Dragon Runners!" Rem smiled broadly and then he took off, Michiru following quickly behind.

Prologue to chapter 4: The Dragon Runners and Master Wand.

Dragon Runners are the cutest things in all of the litz continents. They are quick, agile and very good gudes, seeing as they bond to thier riders. Each one is a different color, meaning it's camoflaged. But do not be decived by it wings, For they can fly with the wind!

Master Wand... What's there to explain? He's the head of The Litz Contenets, known more as the High Wizard. He's the man who concealed Thee Litz continents and who sealed StarCity...

Chapter four: The Dragon Runners and Master Wand

Rem exmined the young Dragon Runner thoroughly as if it had some definit flaw. The Runner was grayish blue, his eyes were the same color. He winked at Rem and Rem smiled at it.
     "What's your name, fella?"
"I'm Inioshi, of the WindCastle Clan! Purebred I am, and most sutible for a young price!" Inioshi winked at Rem again and Rem grinned broadly.
Michiru's mount was clear blue, withe sea green eyes. Michru pet her mount softly and was surprised to hear it speak to her.
"My name is Calania, I'm of Coralreef Clan."
     "Michiru Kazeumi, of the KazeumiCity."
Calania smiled at Michiru gently and spoke softly into Michiru's ear, "You love that one, called Rem?"
Michiru swallowed hard and whispered back to Calania, "Yes i do."
"The one he rides is Inioshi, my Mate. Look there, That green one, Kymi is riding. He's our son."
"Oh, I see..." Michiru said looking at the little green thing.
"So what Clan would he come from then?"
"Without wind and water there would be no earth, He is Revenint from the Chinoju Clan."
     "Interesting..."
"Michiru, You gonna mount or talk all day?" Rem said smiling at her. She had to smile back, it didn't matter to her what mood she was in. He was so contagious.
She mounted Calania, with such grace Rem had to admire her.
"Hey, lover boy! Can we go yet?" Inioshi said impatiently. Rem stared after Michiru, he looked back at Kymi, J J, and Trueblood and then kicked his Dragon runner off.
"That one, that Kymi is riding, Is he yours? I mean your son, the green one?"
"Yes, how did you know?" Innioshi said.
"He inherited your eyes. It's the way he seems to look up to you." Rem said sighing.
     "What is it Rem?"
"I have no idea, it's just this strange feeling that I have. Somethings gonna happen to us, I just..."
"You worry too much about the future Rem, put you focus on the now."
"I only wish I could friend."
"Do you love her Rem?" Rem made a funny choking sound.
     "Wh-a-a-t?"
"Do you love Michiru?" No reply.
     "Rem?" No reply.
     "Gunnison!"
Rem jumped. He smiled at Inioshi, then looked on as if concentrating on something.
     "Inioshi, move faster!" Rem said.
Inioshi caught up to Michiru. Rem looked at her a long time before she actually noticed him.
     "What are you looking at?!"
"Don't you find it quite curious that Mucose hasn't attacked us?"
This time it was Michiru turn to cock her head at Rem.
"Rem! I was already feeling low and now you talk to me about Mucose!"
     Rem looked away from her.
"I know you think i'm an idiot and I know you think I'm so not ready, but I just don't want to see you get hurt. You understand don't you?"
Michiru only looked at him, coking her head slightly.
"Rem, I don't think you're incompitent it's just that, you'd die trying to save me from harm, and it makes me feel inferior. I am a big girl..."
"No you're not, your only fifteen, I won't allow you go riding into the jaws of death..."
     "I was born to fight!"
"You don't understand, Michi. If I don't care who does?"
Michiru opened her mouth then closed it, a slight cliking sound emmiting past her lips.
"I am a princess Rem, of the KazeumiCity, and I do have parents, Rian and Solvenia..."
"But they have in a way disowned you,"
Michiru looked at him with tears in her eyes.
"Just shut-up, okay? I don't..." Michiru quickened Calania's pace. Rem did not attempt to follow her. Sometimes people need to be left alone.
Now that Rem thoght about it, He really didn't remember much of his mother. Nathalia, however couldn't be so easily forgotten, with her love that was so embeded in rems mind.
"Michi, you have no idea how lucky you are to at least have some parents!" Rem cried out, suddenly heartbroken.
     "Rem...!" Michiru suddenly dissapeared.
"Mucose!" Rem snarled as a Black Runner appeared. Inioshi pulled back and stared the black thing in the face.
     "It's evil, my Prince!"
     "I know," Rem replied softly.
He dismounted and approached Mucose cautiously.
"I'm afraid I cannot let you into StarCity, You know too much. Father has sent me here to desroy you."
Rem suddenly thoght of something. Michiru had ridden ahead of him...
     "Where's Michiru?"
Mucose seemed to pull her out of no where, holding a selip needle to her throught.
     "Rem!"
"Shut up! Name me your successor and I'll let her live, if not, you both will die a slow death!"
Rem backtraked, suddenly feeling scared and uncontrolled anger, rising within him. Mucose stabbed michiru with the needle and jumped off after Rem. The next thing Rem knew was there was a blade to his throaht. The others had arrived, all feeling helpless. One move to help Rem could mean the death of the gunnison family...
"I name..." Rem didn't speak for a long time.
     "Lynne," He said softly.
     "Speak louder, Gunnison!"
     "Lynne Serxlitz!"
"Rem, no!" Kymi fell to her knees in grief.
"There must be a future!" The voice came from Rem, but it wasn't Rem's voice.
They all suddenly appeared in black darkness, The Realm of the legendary Master Wand.
It was filled with stars and little pixy helpers, one of which always seemed to try too hard.
Rem almost fell over one as she ran passed him. Rem cried out with grief, and startlement. Michiru was in his arms and she was shivering and shaking terribly.
"Hello, Rem. Aren't you a handsome fellow. You look like Pashana."
"Excuse me, but, WHO THE HELL ARE YOU?" Rem screamed.
"Watch what you say around the Master Wand!"One of the pixies cried out.
Rem was tempted to hurt one of them had it not been for michiru who reached up and touched his face.
     "Rem I can't see..."
     "Hang on there.."
"Put her on the table!" Master Wand called out.
"Ah, the blood of a Kazeumi."
"Ka-Kazeumi?! I thought they were at war with the Starlights!"
"They were at war Rem, but this girl is totally different from her father..." Master Wand cured her.
"Please be careful of what happens to your friends Rem, I don't want to have to heal them forever! Now off with you!"

Rem and the others awoke near the Ajul lake, near Luja city. actually it was on the other side of the lake.
Rem saw something shimmering. he walked over to it and caught it.
"Look in the water and you shall see a little hint to find the key. Emblem of the watery sea, the gate to StarCity." With that the light in Rem's hand died. Rem dove in and founnd a rusty old peice of junk he touched it and it rippled, taking form of a giant sea monster...

Prologue to chapter five: Water key Fire key

Ah, such is the greatest notion of fate, it is what brings the future to you. What controls Rem's destiny is still unknown and who knows what is held in store for him and the keeper of the water key, Michiru.

Chapter Five: Water key Fire key

Rem actually looked troubled for a second. He had thought he'd just imagined it, until it lashed out and caught his foot. Rem struggled for a long time, gasping for breath. Michiru! His head screamed.
Michiru had awoken from her peaceful slumber thinking that somebody had been calling her name. She rubbed her eyes tiredly, but all she could think about was getting just a bit of rest.
Rem surfaced trying to grab hold of a tree stump near the edge of the Ajul Lake. The monster still had him within its grasp, and Rem couldn't fight it with all his strength. His strength had left him suddenly, as he felt the hydra stab a sharp claw into his leg. He felt paralyzed for a second, then he felt as if he was going under a trance.
"Oh, please God! Someone help me! Sta-" Rem suddenly was yanked back into the water. Michiru awoke alarmed.
"Rem!" She ran into the water carefully, then submerged her self. Michiru realized she had to fight water with water. Rem, please hold on. She prayed as she summoned a great water spout that sucked up the Hydra, with her and Rem following it. Within the funnel, the Hydra returned to the form of a blue gold key, with the symbol of the hydra on the end. Michiru grabbed it, then the spout dispersed.
Michiru lay on the shore, performing CPR on Rem. His face was turning blue...
Rem suddenly coughed out nearly a gallon of water and began to choke on the rest.
"Rem, thank God you're still with us! I thought we'd lost you." Rem Looked up, breathing hard.
     "I d-drowned?" He said.
"Almost. I'm sorry Rem." Michiru hugged Rem, and Rem almost felt like pushing her away, or worse, passing out.
"You got it, the key?" He asked weakly. Michiru nodded, a smile lighting up her face, a smile he hadn't quite noticed before. He slowly stood up, noting no one else had been awakened by the skirmish.
Michiru began to walk away, when Rem grabbed her by her sleeve and forced her to him. She looked down. She then looked up, her eyes searching but not quite hitting their mark. Rem made her look into his eyes, and when their eyes met, Michiru found she couldn't pull them away. Rem stroked her cheek gently then, without a word he kissed her softly, but passionately. Michiru began to kiss back until her heartbeat made her forcefully push him away from her.
"No, don't..." She seemingly whispered. "Michi."
"Rem, I- I'm scared... I'm so scared..." Rem took her in his arms again, comforting her, speaking softly, where they proceeded until they bot had fallen asleep.

When Rem had awakened, he was on the back of Inioshi, and he was practically starving. Swallowing all that water hadn't made him feel any better. He saw Michiru leading his steed, and he felt a little safer.
Rem shuddered, feeling like something bad was going to happen suddenly. He gently pushed himself up and, after wobbling for a few, he grabbed the reins of Inio.
     "I got it, Michi."
"Huh?" Michiru spun around and look at Rem. Rem didn't say anything, he only lowered his head and stared at the ground. He looked behind him as he saw his friends, Kymi, and JJ, just behind her. Trueblood took the front.
The day seemingly got hotter and soon, Rem found out why.
They were in a small area where tiny volcanoes erupted. It was when Rem finally looked around that he saw the shiny metallic thing sparkle right in front of him. He blinked at it.
     "A passionate heart of flame
with eyes as blue as water game
a heart as warm as unbending fire
A dream that lives to never expire
And as the traveler soon shall see
Behold! The Fire key to StarCity!
"
Rem's mind reeled when the key suddenly formed into a huge dragon.
"WHY DO THE KEYS KEEP ATTACKING US!?!?" he screamed, leading Inioshi off from a fireball.
"Rem, watch out!" Michiru jumped off Calania and knocked Rem down. Rem suddenly felt extreme heat and Michiru screamed.
Rem pushed Michiru off him, enraged. He summoned up bolts of lightning and fierce wind and let it loose at the key. It formed into a key and dropped immediately into JJ's hands.
"Keep it, JJ, do not loose it." Rem said then, her ran to Michiru who had gotten majorly charred, but because of her ice powers it was not life threatening, just very painful. Rem picked her up in his arms and kissed her just as he had the night before. Michiru awoke and Rem set her down. She looked at him a smiled. Suddenly both Michiru's key and JJ's key began to glow and their bodies seemingly absorbed it. They both screamed and writhed with pain, but when the pain had subsided, they acted as though it had never occurred.
     "Are you two all right?"
"Don't worry about it, Rem. They keys are safe now."
Rem didn't say anything, only locked his lips together. Her then stroked Michiru's face gently and got back on his Dragon Runner. "Let's go. Onward, to Luja City!"

As they made their way to the gates, They were stopped by a silver clad knight, although his armor was nowhere near as bulky as most mid-evil knights were. In fact all it consisted of was links of chain formed into a shirt.
     "Who goes there?"
     "Rem Gunnison!" Rem called out.
"Behold! The missing prince returns! I am Tenake! Please, please, enter! Welcome to Luja City!"
