One morning Casie woke up. Her mom walked into the room.
"Oh! Casie, you're awake!" Her mom said.
"Would you mind waking your brother up?"
"OK" Casie said", "but where are we going?" Casie asked.
"Well, your father and I were thinking of going to the pumpkin patch today to pick out a pumpkin for your daddy to carve."
"Oh!" Casie said.
After a couple of minutes Casie went downstairs for breakfast. They were having eggs and bacon, that was Casie's favorite. When she was finished eating she thought she could go out and play with her friend Amber. But her mom said no, or she would get her new clothes dirty.
Casie then decided to go upstairs and play with her dollies. Finally it was time to go. She hopped in the car with one of her dollies. Not many minutes after that they were at the pumpkin patch. They looked and looked and finally they found the right one.
"That one!" Casie shouted.
"Where" asked her mom.
"Over there!" Casie said.
Finally her mom saw it. It was bright orange. Then they all knew it was just the right one. So then they bought it and hopped into their van and drove off. When they got home right away they got the carving knife out and their dad started to carve a pumpkin face.
When they were finished carving the pumpkin their mom said to keep the seeds to bake them on Halloween day. That night Casie brushed her teeth and hopped into bed and started to read her bedtime story. Finally she started to fall asleep. The next morning she woke up. It was the big day.
Halloween!
"Yea! Yea!" Casie yelled.
Her mom walked in the room.
"Whats going on up here?" her mom asked.
"I'm just so happy it's finally Halloween", Casie said with a happy face.
"Oh" her mom said.
Later that day they were getting ready to start baking the pumpkin seeds. The baked one whole hour. Finally they were finished baking. They spread the seeds out on a paper towel, but one fell off the towel into a little puddle that was spilt on the floor.
That night after Casie and her brother Zach got home it was way past their bedtime. Overnight the seed grew and grew and grew. And in the morning it was a huge pumpkin. It started out in the newspaper, then on TV.
It was the most greatest thing that had ever happened in her life, but one night it was very late. Casie dreamed of a little fairy walking down the stairs. She knew she had to be dreaming, but in the morning the pumpkin was gone. Where it went you'll have to figure that one out yourself!
