Humanimals

Once there was a scientist. He was doing experiments on rats. One day he broke one of the glasses to the rats cages. The rats got free that night. When the scientist woke up and went to his lab, he saw that there was tons of rats surrounding his rats, squeaking and squealing.

He couldn't resist the sound. And then the rats swarmed around him. The scientist ran as fast as he could. He got out of his lab and ran down to the pet shop. He asked if the rats had something like, they could have babies, and the man said yes. The scientist said, "How can you get them to not have babies?" The man said, "You can't." The scientist ran back to the lab grabbing his shot gun.

The rats were already swarming and swarming. He reached down and grabbed on and looked at its eyes. It had green eyes like a cat. The scientist said, "I must have mixed up the DNA and gave it cat DNA with the human DNA". The rats started getting bigger and bigger as the scientist watched. The scientist said "Oh no!"

The rats got bigger and bigger like a person, and they started to say words. The man was impressed. The rats had intelligence. They could actually talk. So he didn't blow them away, instead he started talking to them. The man said "Hi" to one of the rats, and the rat said "Hi" back. Then the rat asked, "What species are you?" the man said "I am human."

The rats climbed up the stairs eager to figure out what was outside the lab. They went out and saw moving vehicles. One rat jumped up and picked one up and threw it because he was frightened from it. The people were afraid and started to run and scream.

The rats ran down the road to the pet shop. The man in the pet shop screamed and ran out. The rats grabbed some of their fellow friends in the cages and put them in the pouches of their cheeks and then ran back to the science lab. They gave them the cat/people DNA and all the other rats started to be bigger and bigger and their eyes turned green.

The people were down the road planning on ideas how to kill the rats. The people charged down the street with guns, rakes, shovels and other junk. They started to charge the rats, then the scientist jumped out in front of them, and said "No, no, don"t kill them, they are intelligent, and they can walk and talk. They are a new species. They did not mean harm but are afraid and curious. Why would you want to kill them without trying to understand them?"

The people were nervous, but then one of the rats came out in front of the scientist and said "Hello, I am the master rat. We wish you no harm, but only want to learn. Please don't hurt the scientist either. He is our only friend. Will you be our friends too? Will you help us learn and understand?" The people said, "Alright, we will be your friends."

The rat shaked hands with one of the people. They were all nervous, but they went to the big hall down the road and had a big party to become friends. Then one of the rats ran down to the pet shop, took some leashes, put them on the dogs and took the dogs down to the scientist lab. He shot them with the cat/people DNA and then watched as they grew big and their eyes turned green and they got smart. Then one of the dogs walked up to the rat and said "Thank you". One of the dogs ran outside on two legs, then all the other dogs followed him. The people were shocked. They said "What? First rats, now dogs? What next? Cats? Bunnies?"

Somehow the scientist had made a DNA that could change animals into Humanimals. But they were nice Humanimals, they just needed to be taught. The people agreed it was a good thing and they would teach the Humanimals and try to live together in peace.

One of the rats saw a library. He said "Hey rats and dogs... library!" And they all ran to the library to start learning and reading. The rats and dogs were grabbing books all over and people were sitting with them helping them to understand. They could read so fast and were learning so fast the people were amazed.

After the Humanimals had learned a lot with the peoples help, they decided that until they could learn jobs and stuff they would be story tellers. They thought that would be fun. The people set up some jobs for them and they started learning jobs and telling stories when they weren't working, and every year they all got together to celebrate the day of the rats and dogs, and the Humanimals would tell stories of how they came to be. This was called "Humanimal Day"

Every year they would have Humanimal day and people started coming from all over the world to see them. They were amazed to see how the scientist had created them. The scientist began to get old but he shared his knowledge of how he created Humanimals so that more could be created from other animals. They had found that this was a good way to live together.

In a few years the scientist grew older and had died. Everyone attended his funeral and celebrated his life. They were glad that he had discovered how to make Humanimals. They had a special statue made for him that said "The Humanimal Creator". And they all remembered him as a wonderful man that made a new beginning.
