My First Day On A Farm
by: Tammy Beers, age 7

One day Kim woke up. It was a sunny day, maybe she could go out and play with her dog Shadow. Then she heard her baby brother crying.

She walked in the room. She looked at her baby brother. He was filled with tears. Her dad came walking out of the bathroom "What's the matter with Josh daddy?" Kim asked. "Nothing, he just wants attention. That's all. Now I'm late for work so I must be going." he said.

So I gave him a kiss and said good-bye. The she ran outside and started to play with her dog Shadow. At dinner her mom and dad told her that she was going to visit her grandparents. She thought that it would be nice to see her grandparents, but when she heard that they lived on a farm she was scared.

How could she make it so she wouldn't have to live on a farm for a couple of weeks?

That night her mom and dad told her to pack. She had to think of something fast. When morning came her mom came walking in. "Time to go, hop in the car, " her mom said. "I'm sick, " Kim said "Don't try and trick me with that old joke. Now get in the car or we're going to be late." her mom said.

Kim went outside and hopped into the car. On the way she saw all kinds of farms. When they got there her grandparents came running out of the house.

They told her to look around. First they took her to the room she would be staying in. Then they took her outside.

This was it. But then she was surprised. A big beautiful creature stood in front of her. "What's that?" Kim said. "A horse," her grandparents said.

They walked some more. A fat little pink creature stood in front of her. "What's that?" Kim said. "A pig." her grandparents said. They walked some more. Then they came to the fields. She saw little white curls all over. "What are those?" Kim said. "They are sheep," her grandparents said. They walked some more. She saw black, brown and white animals. "What are those?" Kim asked. "They're cows," her grandparents said. They walked some more. The she saw some red and brown feathers. "What's that?" Kim asked. "They're chickens," her grandparents said.

Days past and soon it was time to go home. "Already?" Kim said. Kims' grandparents said good-bye and gave kisses.

On the way home she asked "When can I visit the farm again?" "Soon honey, soon", her mom said.

When they got home Kim was fast asleep. Kim was dreaming about life on a farm.

The End
