Straight Up!

Southern Belle's and Beau's Basic Beauty Boutique Inc.

Every culture has it's own style of clothing, ranging from very conservative to outrageously wild. The south has a very unique brand of style, around here just about anything goes! The latest styles for this spring are velour tops or dresses, long floral skirts, Levi's Jeans (or Calvin Klein), wide leg jeans, almost anything corduroy or pastel colored, funky prints for bathing suits, tops, pants, skirts, etc., jumpers, skorts (they look like a skirt in the front but they are really shorts), any length shorts, boy shorts for bikinis, and brand name clothing.

As far as sports shoes go, Nikes, Reeboks, Asics, and Adidas seem to be the most popular brands. If you're looking for some shoes to match an outfit for a more formal occasion like a prom, a good place to look for them is the mall in Belks, JC Penneys, Dillards, or any other fine department store. Some places may even be able to dye the shoes to match the dress if you ask. Shoes for casual dresses can be found just about everywhere. My favorites are the more funky looking of the shoes that can be found at Ups and Downs. For spring strappy sandals are a good choice for dresses, and Airwalks, Keds, Nikes, etc., are a good choice for just hanging out depending on your style and what you like.

For guys, sports shirts and jerseys are in right now. Jeans can be baggy or tailored, depending on your taste in clothing and style. Shoes seem to be the defining element of the outfit around here. Some of the more popular brands of shoes for guys are Airwalks, Vans, Reeboks, and Nikes. Dress clothes is just your basic pair of khakis and a dress shirt. Ties, on the other hand, can be more explicit and can add more flavor to the outfit.

What's the style scene where you live like? We would be happy to hear from you if you have any questions, comments, or info that you would like to share with us.
